Have you ever stopped yourself from setting something on top of an image of Our Lord's face or Our Lady's face out of respect or holy fear?
Amazon is selling a doormat — the thing upon which you scrape the mud off your shoes before you walk into a house.
This mat shows the faces of the Christ Child and His Mother, gazing at one another. Amazon's vendor SQEP titled it:
- 'Welcome Mat Mary and Jesus – "A Moment of Divine Connection"'

The mat is well made. That is the point. Its craftsmanship is what makes it 'acceptable' in a doorway and what makes the insult so easy to overlook without a second thought.
Because God asks us to hate the sin, we should respond with contempt for this act of hatred of Our Lady and Our Lord and admonish Amazon for selling it.

One complaint. That was all it took. Amazon pulled those mats because Muslims were offended.
Why the double standard? Why do Our Lord and Our Lady stay on the floor?
Ask Amazon for one reason.
If they don’t pull it, their silence answers for them because they hate Our Lady and Our Lord.
Let’s pray that their silence is not simply the echo of ours.
Sign the petition. Tell Amazon to remove these anti-Catholic doormats.
We cannot stand by while the Christ Child and His Mother are made into something to wipe feet on.
