Warning!
... deeply disturbing
When we did this years ago, their accompanying 'description' mockingly said
“it could be the second immaculate conception!”
Please read and then help me keep - the - pressure - ON.
I deeply regret to inform you that right now there are, once again, pages on Amazon selling immoral, anti-Catholic Halloween costumes. READ WITH CAUTION: Horrible, immoral description coming up – as ‘sanitized’ as possible.
Our past pressure on Amazon seems to have had some success. The Amazon vendors removed the mind-in-the-gutter, anti-Catholic, and anti-purity/celibacy 'descriptive' text that had accompanied the photos of the two costumes.
‘Keep Up the Faith’: portrays a priest in an evident state of sexual excitement. Mockingly and with an evil snicker, it had been 'described' as such:
- “Costume includes black cassock with white collar, and hand held pump to get the father excited.” [emphasis added]
‘Thank You, Father!’: a pregnant-nun costume was gleefully described:
- "Hey! You never know, it could be the second immaculate conception! This Pregnant Nun Costume will get others’ attention because it is not every day that you see a nun that is nine months pregnant walking down the street…Pair this costume with a priest, Jesus, or pope costume for a head-turning duo!" [emphasis added]
These are terrible insults to Jesus and Mary, the Immaculate Conception, priests and consecrated women religious – some of the most insidious that I have ever seen or heard!
I challenge you to show your love and politely but firmly petition Mr. Jassy to enforce his company’s own Restricted Products > Offensive and Controversial Materials policies and STOP SELLING these costumes that promote “religious intolerance” of the Catholic Faith and which do not “ensure a welcoming environment for our global customers.”
From Amazon’s website (restricted items):
• “Amazon does not allow products that promote, incite or glorify hatred…or religious intolerance…”
• “Products that promote intolerance based on …religion…”
Will you join me in this protest? And then get every pure-hearted soul you know to join you?
Let’s keep the pressure ON!
Urge Amazon’s Andy Jassy to “Take Down These Pages!”
