So simple and resounding was Saint Anthony's teaching of the Catholic Faith that even the most unlettered and innocent understood it. He is known as "Doctor of the Church", “Hammer of the Heretics” and "Patron Saint of Lost Articles".
May 22: In religious life Saint Rita of Cascia was a model of virtue, prayer and mortification. She bore Our Lord's wounds on her forehead from the crown of thorns.
September 23: Saint Padre Pio was a Capuchin Franciscan priest and friar who worked miracles, bore the wounds of Our Lord, and experienced spiritual ecstasies.

October 2: The existence of angels is a dogma of our Catholic Faith, and is abundantly documented in Sacred Scriptures and Catholic Tradition.
June 22: Saint Thomas More, Lord Chancellor of England, and Saint John Fisher, Bishop of Rochester, died as martyrs resisting King Henry VIII and the Protestant Reformation.
May 23: Saint John Baptist de Rossi entered the Roman Jesuit College at thirteen. He was ordained a priest at the age of twenty-three.
August 1: Saint Alphonsus received his doctorate at the age of 16. By 19 he was practicing law, but he decided to give his life to God and left the practice to do apostolate.
November 15: For his great knowledge and scientific writings, Saint Albert the Great is considered the "Patron of Scientists".
June 21: When he was 7, he experienced a spiritual awakening: he made a vow of perpetual virginity, dedicated his time to prayer, especially the Office of Our Lady.
August 31: Saint Aidan of Lindisfarne lived in seclusion, but his virtues shone so brightly that he was selected to become a Bishop.
