February 9: Saint Michael was born in Cuenca, Ecuador in 1854 to a wealthy family. From birth he had a deformity that disabled him and prevented him from walking.
February 22: Saint Margaret of Cortona devoted herself to caring for the sick, living off of alms, eating and sleeping little, and eventually took the habit of the third order of St. Francis.
April 12: Alferius is said to have lived to the age of 120. Throughout the course of his life, he had built a network of 3000 monks across southern Italy.
September 16: Pope Saint Cornelius fought against the Novatian heresy and was martyred during the persecution of Emperor Gallus.
October 8: Saint Keyne was a beautiful young woman, a princess. Many noblemen courted her hand in marriage, but she refused, living a vow of virginity instead.
November 12: Saint Josaphat was martyred, giving his life to unite his people with Rome while retaining Byzantine Catholic Traditions.
May 30: Joan of Arc’s story is nothing but extraordinary. Born in Domremy, Champagne, in 1412, she was a peasant girl who lead the French militarily against the invading English.

Several saints honored the Holy Name of Jesus, but the devotion became widespread in the fifteenth century through St. Bernardine of Siena.
Our Blessed Mother Mary
Flowers belonged to Mary, the Mother of God. In those times when spiritual life and daily life were so intertwined, flowers were a veritable catechism for the faithful.

September 29: Saint Michael teaches us that it's not enough for Catholics to behave well: it is also our duty to fight evil. He should not just be our model but our help.
