May 10: Fr. Damien volunteered as a missionary priest to the leper community on the island of Moloka'i to better serve God. He himself contracted leprosy.
August 4: The year before Saint John Mary Vianney died, over 100,000 pilgrims travelled to see the him, for he was renowned for his great holiness.
January 9: Saint Adrian became abbot of a monastic school that became a center of learning and virtue with far-reaching influence.
March 16: Saint Abraham Kidunaia was beaten many times in his attempt to convert the pagans of Beth-Kiduna, but eventually won them over through his patient perseverance.
October 5: Blessed Raymond of Capua was the confessor of Saint Catherine of Siena. Together, they tackled serious issues affecting Church governance during their lifetimes.
August 9: Blessed Amadeus was initially not well received by his brothers in the monastery, and bore all the humiliations they gave him. However, he was later renowned for his holiness and miracles.
On June 29th, the Catholic Church commemorates the Feast of Saint Peter, the First Pope, and Saint Paul, the greatest missionary in history.
September 13: John Chrysostom was exiled time and again for speaking the truth which offended the sensitive ears of sinners, but he never stopped telling the truth.
