September 22: Saint Thomas of Villanova was committed to the poor, established care for orphans, and convinced the emperor to provide funds to organize priests for service among the converted Moors.
September 24: In September 1046, Saint Gerard was attacked and beaten, but still forgave his assailants. He is considered one of the patrons of Hungary.
September 25: Saint Albert was Patriarch and Bishop of Jerusalem, who cared for the spiritual well being of Christians in the Holy Land in spite of Muslim domination.
September 1: Saint Drithelm fell suddenly and gravely ill, died, viewed the afterlife, and was then permitted to return to life in order to tell others of his experience.
September 2: Saint William, Bishop of Roskilde is famous for barring an excommunicated king and his armed guards from entering a church. The king later repented.
September 3: Though he held the highest civil office, Gregory decided to give up his career, money and possessions to dedicate himself to God. He later became Pope.
September 4: Saint Rose of Viterbo was endowed by God with the gift of miracles. At the age of three she raised her maternal aunt to life.
September 5: From a young age, Saint Laurence Giustiniani had an innate attraction to all that pertained to God. He is also revered for his great works on mystical contemplation.
September 6: Saint Bega was revered her for her goodness and kindness, and she is still venerated in Northumbria and Scotland today.
September 7: Until his death in 560, Clodoald relentlessly evangelized the people of Nogent in which vicinity he had established a monastery.
