“Protect Our Children”

This was the Cry from More than 1,200 Public Rosary Rallies Held Across the Nation

America’s public sidewalks became places of prayer this past week as parents, grandparents, and supporters met to pray to God for the protection of children from porn and LGBTQ materials in libraries and schools. The 1,223 public rosary rallies asked Our Blessed Mother for help protecting children who are exposed directly and indirectly to destructive, sexualized books in classrooms and libraries. Organized through America Needs Fatima, these rallies were a cry to God and to fellow Americans to open their eyes, understand what is happening to our children, and stand up against this evil.

Many of these rosary rallies were held at or near public schools and libraries known to include immoral materials on bookshelves, reading lists, and curriculum, often under the banner of “inclusive education.” School boards and LGBTQ advocates have long pushed this soft moniker to rationalize having seemingly innocent books, games and coloring books in classrooms. The rallies prayed for parents and leaders to have the moral courage to lift their voices to God, restore decency, and bring about change for the protection of children.

Rally-goers also prayed for elected officials to enact measures that protect children from exposure to inappropriate materials. At both the federal and state levels, discussions continue regarding policies related to educational content in schools and libraries. These ongoing conversations reflect the concerns expressed by many families and community members. Public prayer lifts these efforts and encourages civic engagement to support the protection of children.

Rally captains shared news and photos from the rosary rallies they led in their communities:

“We received plenty of positive feedback from the community – honks, smiles, and encouragement. A couple was so moved they got off the bus to join us in prayer.”

Agnieszka, from Hamilton, N.J., said, “We had about 8 people gathered in front of Hamilton Public Library in Hamilton NJ to pray the rosary. “We previously made sure that there was pornographic material at this library. I notified the police department of our rally, presenting it as a peaceful gathering, since the library is located next to Hamilton Police Headquarters. The reaction of the people who drove by was rather indifferent.”

“Weather was ominous with dark clouds and rain all around town. Assume many expected it to rain and I put on the flyers that the rally would be held unless inclement weather. Only 3 others showed up. Mother Mary kept the rain away (except for a slight sprinkle). After the rally it began to rain. We had several honks and compliments for rally against porn and LBGT books in libraries. One lady in the library came out to see what we were doing. After I explained to her that we were praying to stop the advancement of bad books in all libraries not necessarily John and Judy Gay Library but around the country. She said we have the 1st amendment right to speak out and agreed with our rally theme. Another lady came by and said her (assume church) group was praying for the same and would have joined us except she had to go to work. Overall a good rally with a total of 4 of us.”

“Our rally went well. A couple hecklers, many more supporters. We had three additions to our group.”

“Once a child’s innocence is lost, it cannot be regained, which can cause lifelong confusion that affects families and society,” said Robert E. Ritchie, director of America Needs Fatima. “We must recognize the evil that some people are trying to push on our children when they think parents aren’t looking, and we must do all we can to beg God for help. By praying the rosary, we are asking Our Lady to speak to God on our behalf and to give every American child the protection he or she deserves.”
