Thousands of Americans Pray Publicly to Honor Young Saints Francisco and Jacinta

To mark the February 20 feast day of Saints Francisco and Jacinta, the youngest children (who are not martyrs) to be canonized, Americans across the country participated in more than 1,000 rosary rallies in their honor. The rallies, which were organized by America Needs Fatima, also served to highlight Our Lady’s message to “pray the rosary every day to obtain peace for the world and the end of the war.”

Saints Jacinta and Francisco were two of the three young seers at Cova da Iria (near Fatima) who witnessed six apparitions of the Blessed Mary in 1917 – and who accepted Our Lady’s heavenly invitation to offer reparation to God and save the souls of sinners. Her apparitions gave these humble shepherd children a supernatural purpose and transformed them in a matter of months.

These saints adhered faithfully to the Blessed Mother, who called herself the “Lady of the Rosary,” and they offered penances of hunger, thirst, discomfort and the constant harassment of disbelievers. Inspired by their devotion, Americans bravely stood up to serve as rosary rally captains and attendees, and accepted the call to pray publicly for the conversion of our country and to make reparation for sinners.

“It was a beautiful day to be on the hill for our rosary rally in Honor of St. Francisco and St. Jacinta,” said Andrew M. a rally captain from Sulphur, La. “One attendee expressed joy and excitement of coming to pray with us as a group. Praise be Jesus and Mary always and forever! To God be the glory!”

“Each rosary rally held last week served as a memorial to the child witnesses of Our Lady’s visitations, and reminds us of her message to Francisco that he would have to say many rosaries to go to Heaven,” said Robert E. Ritchie, executive director of America Needs Fatima. “In the same way Francisco exclaimed that he would say as many rosaries as Our Lady wanted, each rally captain and rally participant said ‘yes’ to Our Lady’s requests. It was beautiful to see public prayer across America, which is badly needed to save our country.”

This year, America Needs Fatima is challenging every person to become a rosary rally captain in honor of a loved one who is sick, died, or is facing certain hardships. To join thousands of Catholics in this endeavor for Our Lady, visit Rosary Rally Central to sign up as a captain for any of the many themed rosary rallies being held in 2026.
